Volunteer Firefighter

McLane - Black Lake Fire Department accepts applications for Volunteer Firefighter prior to the start of the Academy. The Fire District sends candidates to the Thurston County Recruit Academy in the spring and fall, and will contact applicants prior to confirm their interest. In addition to an application, candidates must pass a CPAT physical ability test.  Those who are successful will be given a physical exam and drug screen prior to becoming a Volunteer Recruit.

Applicants with current firefighting experience may be considered as Lateral Entry Volunteers at the discretion of the Volunteer Coordinator and may not need to participate in the Recruit Academy. The CPAT physical ability test, physical exam and drug screen will still be required of Lateral Volunteers.

For more information, see Volunteer Program Link, or contact the District's Coordinator Michelle Meeds at (360) 866-1000.
