The Career Firefighter/EMT reports directly to the Career Lieutenant. The primary responsibilities of this position include conducting emergency medical and fire response, maintaining operational readiness, assisting with training, supporting fire and life safety education programs and performing BLS transport. McLane Black Lake Fire Department is a combination fire department. The successful candidate will be expected to work well with and to support recruiting, training, and mentoring of volunteer team members. This position will work a non-traditional 28-day work cycle of 212 hours.

McLane Black Lake Fire Department is accepting applications for Volunteer Firefighter, Volunteer Firefighter/EMT, and EMT only positions.
The first round of applications are due by email, in person, or mail on November 1st.
The fire district sends candidates to the recruit academy in the spring and fall, and will contact applicants prior to confirm their interest. In addition to an application, candidates must pass a CPAT physical ability test. Those who are successful will be given a physical exam and drug screen prior to becoming a volunteer recruit.
Applicants with current firefighting experience may be considered as a lateral entry volunteer at the discretion of the Fire Chief and may not need to participate in the recruit academy. The CPAT physical ability test, physical exam and drug screen will still be required of lateral volunteers.
